Vacationing in Monterey next week - any food and wine suggestions
0My wife and I are headed to Monterey for a few days to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and was hoping for some suggestions for both food and wineries while we are in town. We weren’t planning on traveling around too much. but I’m sure we’ll be up in the Santa Cruz area for a day.
Any suggestions would be great.

10th anniversary in Monterey I would strongly suggest you take your lovely wife to Passionfish! http://www.passionfish.net/http://www.passionfish.net/
Great food reasonably priced and easily the best wine list this side of Berns Something for everyone and very reasonable markups.
Maybe 20 miles north of Santa Cruz is one of my favorites http://www.duartestavern.com/ they make a crab cioppino that will make you see god
As you can see when we go up north it’s all about the food, wine is easy

Yeah, Scott is right on both counts. If you feel like heading a little further north on PCH, you can get to Pescadero and there is a fantastic goat farm/cheesery called Harley Farms and a bakery known for its artichoke everything (esp. bread), which also happens to be Duarte’s.
I don’t remember any of the wineries, but the main drag along Carmel has a few worthwhile ones.
Carmel Valley for wine tasting. I was there about one year ago and loved it. There’s a small town with about 10 tasting rooms, my favorite being Chesebro.

Thanks Guys!
These all look like good suggestions. Except the goat farm. I had already decided I had too much goat in my life.
Don’t miss Bernardus Winery.
@ilCesare thank you.
