Hi CMers! My wife and I are planning a trip from Paris to Barcelona in June. Does anywone have recommendations on wineries to visit? Thanks in advance.
That’s hard…what kind of wine do you like? You’ve got semi-direct route options that include the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, the Pyrenees, Languedoc, and even the Rhône if you take a slight detour.
Once you cross the Pyrenees, you could easily detour to Rioja and Navarra, or you could find some good winries no doubt in Catalonia.
Thank you guys for the feedback! We like reds but not ports. We are going from Paris to Bordeaux and wandering east to Marseille before taking a train to Barcelona. Even with 3.5 weeks it is hard to fit in the NW part of Spain and do SE part of France. So definitely Bordeauxs, Rhones, and Catalona are in reach. I love Rioja but will just have to find them in Barcelona. We are doing a week there. Any experience with specific vinyards? Thanks again.
Chateauneuf-duPape is my favorite in the Rhone region. There are many tasting rooms there in walking distance. I’ve never had a bad bottle from that region. Make sure to try both red and white.
AND Portugal… Help ME TOO!
I asked first!

Sandeman, in the south, makes outstanding ports, and decent sherries.
