Vintage and Winemaker Notes
From two of the best Barbera vineyards we work with. Both bud out earlier and ripen later than Zinfandel producing grapes at lower pH with full bright varietal fruit. Amador County is rapidly becoming known as the best wine growing region in the world for Barbera
Both the Manby and Linsteadt vineyards produce small bunches of high extraction, perfect pH and flavors to produce world class Barbera.

Hi Everyone,
Exciting to be back on Casemates. This time I’m replying to the forum from Budapest. I’m setting on an AMA Waterways river cruise ship on the Danube early in the morning while my computer is still showing me it is 10:30 the evening before there. So, with the time difference I hope I’ll be able to get back often enough to answer all the questions. We’ll be going from Budapest through the Austrian wine regions to the part of southern Germany were I was born. I’m giving a number of lectures on board about Hungarian, Austrian and Franken wines. So far the wines have been fabulous.
Cheers,
Scott
@ScottHarveyWine Enjoy Scott!
Any chance to take a detour to Burgenland? We had an excellent babymoon trip over there, and spent a half day at Kracher, enjoying the myriad dessert wines.
We also found some good wines in Bratislava.
@klezman We won’t be leaving the Danube to go over to Burgenland, but I will be presenting one red Zweigelt wine from Burgenland as we are floating by Bratislava on today’s lecture. Jana’s grandmother was from Bratislava.
@ScottHarveyWine Hi Scott and Jana! Friends of ours went on a similar trip last year. They loved it!! Enjoy your time away from the harvests!! Now to order a case! Will you be coming to OH next year?
WD, seriously?please stop with tempting offers!! I’m going to be in so much trouble for spending more money Scott Harvey Barbera is my favorite! In for 4

Unfortunately, not CT. The licensing fees to sell in CT are the highest of all 50 states. So, the CT citizen is unfairly not allowed to purchase many of America’s high quality small winery wines. I thought America was based on free trade between the States?
@Nel250@sdenicola If you live close to PA or NY you can ship to a Walgreens that has a FedEx presence and pick up there. I just did this recently and it worked well. You should also subscribe to the NJ thread for case splits (like the recent Tercero deal which is still an option if there is interest).
Scott, I recall you saying these can age about 10-15 years? Should we be drinking them now or holding for a while. A little of both I imagine. How will they change over time?
You’re right. A little of both. I like them at about 7 to ten years. Jana likes them younger. So, it depends on your taste. What ever makes happy though, I’m willing to enjoy with her.
How much more are you saving by buying a full case?
(Note: Tax & Shipping not included in savings calculations)
Scott Harvey Reserve and Mountain Selection Barbera - $25 = 10.41%
We recently changed out our compliance at the winery and found out we had a mess on our hands. Many states we thought we were in, the old compliance person had let lapse. So send us your name to Jana@scottharveywines.com and as we clean this all up we will contact you and see if you still want the shipment.
I know it’s several typos (or is it?), but FWIW it’s funny.

As we drink this wine we may get closer to understanding dark matter! Cheers!

Yum, but where to put it…?
No room… But that won’t stop me.
I’m so relieved… I have enough of these left. This is a much needed break after all these case purchases. However, I don’t have this 2017 J&S reserve.

@ScottHarveyWine Have a great vacation. Happy birthday to Jana!
Surprise! It’s more fabulous Scott Harvey wines!!
But where to put it? SoCal case splits?
@MarkDaSpark I have a similar problem, but it’s Scott’s juice, so what are we supposed to do? I would take 2 of each (1/3 case)
@MarkDaSpark I can take the other third.

Done!

@davirom @MarkDaSpark Kool. Don’t lose 'em in the black hole of one of your wine lockers!

@ScottHarveyWine That was the original idea I guess… a great idea that has been destroyed by the clowns in Hartford
previous offer/notes that included the 2016 barbera here:

No NJ again? Missed out on the last deal because of this. I’ve been buying SH for years, not sure what happened?
@sdenicola me too! No NJ??

@hscottk @Nel250 How would that work? Should I just put the ship to address as Walgreens and they will hold for pickup?
@Nel250 @sdenicola I shipped it to my name c/o Walgreens. You need ID when picking up.
@hscottk Thanks, I’m going to give it a shot.
The 2008 Reserve that i’d recently had was wonderful

@ScottHarveyWine Thank you good to know. Im getting too old for 15 year aging lol. I’ll
try to sit on some for another 6 or 7 years.

Yay Wolverines! (I’m getting a free cup of coffee) Sorry Spartans
