Wine fridge help please!
0Help!! My cooling unit went out last night. Now keeping at 74 instead of 55.
We got a new unit about 7 years ago. My question is: do I replace the unit at about 2k or look into new unit/cabinet? This one is huge and holds about 400+ bottles. Should I get 2 smaller ones?
I’m kinds freaking out and don’t want everything to go bad.
Brands to avoid? Recommend Brands?
Thanks in advance!!

What type unit do you have?
Something with an integrated built in chiller, or a box where it is a self-contained unit and is easily removed?
Most any competent refrigeration tech should be able to service the chiller unit.
Is it not running at all, or running and just not cooling?
Are the fans running?
Check the simple things first…
It’s the self contained unit. It’s running just not cooling. Fans running.
@mommadeb
I’d call around, pull it and take it in.
Avoid the service call and you may even get faster service in the shop rather than on-site.
Like Ron said, if you can remove the unit and get it serviced then do that. You probably don’t need a new one entirely.
Also don’t freak out about the wine. Even though it’s Florida, it’s also November and wine sitting at a reasonable-enough room temp for many years isn’t going to hurt it. Ask me how I know…
Ha ha. We’ve had record highs here! And I keep the house at 77/78. The problem might be finding someone who can look at it. Most pros are fixing stuff from the last 2 hurricanes.
Might look at new. What brands are good and what to stay away from
