Austin Area Casemates?
1Greetings from the Texas capitol! Thought I would give this a go. Looking for people in the Austin area to possible split cases/orders. Never tried this before but I want to start because I feel like I’m missing out on so much great wine because my wallet whimpers too loudly.

Hey @Lemming82, I’m in the area and may be interested from time to time. Let me know if/when you see an offer you may want to split.
@hokiedevil Certainly! You as well! How does this work anyhow? Do we exchange email addresses or something on here?
@Lemming82 hmm… that “other site” we all came from had a private message feature… which I don’t see here. I’m hoping as part of the Kickstarter they figure out some innovative way we can all see who is (1) within a certain radius (2) interested in the current offer, and (3) willing to split the order.
@hokiedevil I’m curious to see what they come up with as well. It would be nice to have a feature where somebody says I want to split a case X ways with people N miles from me and other people can kind of hop on until all bottles are spoken for. Not sure how one would work out splitting the payment, though (besides those involved just paypalling the originator, etc). Lots of details to work out like if people commit to share and then back out or disappear.
Anyway, in the meantime if any Austin folks want to talk case splits you can PM me on woot here:

(I’m hesitant to expose my email address to the world. I get enough spam already)
@leftymgp I completely get that about the spam. Considering these are the same people that started WW I would imagine they would try to mirror all the things that made it great like the private messaging. Also, great idea on the splitting of cases. I imagine there would be some logistical challenges but its a novel idea.
I’m also in the Austin area and would be down for an occasional split.
Austin area as well. Would be down for a split every once and a while!
Even something like this quick google form could help round up who wants to share a case.

@M0535 , @leftymgp , @hokiedevil ; What if I started a Facebook group instead? Everyone here have at least have one, correct? That way everyone can chime in when they want without having to send around emails that may get lost in an inbox. Thoughts?
@Lemming82, works for me.
@Lemming82 works for me too
@M0535 , @leftymgp , @hokiedevil; here we go!

@Lemming82 Not to sound critical, but I don’t know if what was started is actually a Facebook “group”. I think it’s more of a community page, maybe?
That probably sounds pedantic, but a “group” is probably the proper vehicle for the type of discussion we’re after.
I tried to start a “group” here. I’m not exactly sure how the permissions work but hopefully anybody can just join at will.

@leftymgp I can take down my thing. Never had tried to do a group before so I’ll get on yours.
I’m also in the Austin area (CP). I think a FB group is a good idea.
I am also interested in splitting cases in Austin. I’ll join the FB group unless there is another way.
@debegone I’m guessing that the facebook group will become obsolete once they figure out how to incorporate splits into the website design.
@leftymgp That’s my guess too.
Anyone want to split the current offer?
@pardough come join our Austin Facebook group and try posting there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/157310694916643
