Bell Wine Cellars
0I was just curious if we’d get Bell Wine Cellars on casemates again at some point (if we ever had, maybe it was just from the older site). Missing that mystery box with wellingtons had me searching for any Wellington bottles that remained for sale out in the internet and it made me also reminisce about my second favorite offering - the Bell variety packs.

Even though Bell has changed hands, I’m with you in thinking it would be nice to see a Bell offer.
@jmdavidson1 ah, that probably explains it, did not know. Thanks!
@kray05 More accurately, winemaker Anthony Bell, retired a few years ago. Maybe winedavid can still work a deal with the winery. The last deal I think might have been in 2018.
I actually picked up a couple of these 18 Rutherford’s for a very discounted price a while ago, drank one and it really wasn’t my thing, of course YMMV?

@ScottW58 the winemaking changed under the new regime. Anthony made them like a bigger version of Corison - a bit more oak but still not overpowering, plenty of acidity, and a bit more extracted.
If you want, I can open up an older Bell next time we get together.
@klezman @ScottW58 Was '16 his last year?
@rjquillin @ScottW58 something like that? I recall the 2014 cab sold here was way more oaky than anything older that we’d tasted. I know he had investors who (I think) also pushed him toward the bigger style in his last couple years making the wine.
@ScottW58 better than the WS price today?
Pull an early cork yet?
@rjquillin
I think the price was the same, the wine was all fruit and hot. Did not like it ymmv
The 2018 Rutherford Cab is on Wine Spies today for $48.
Wine access has the 2018 CS Napa for $40/35. Looks like the winery is looking to move some inventory.
