Looks like there are a bunch of SoCal people here, far more than were regular ww gathering attendees. Let’s list out where we all are, so at least we have it all in one place?
@fring Indeed - looking forward to meeting you and delivering the Tercero this weekend. Just missed the Stewart Cellars but I need to take a break for the next few weeks, the storage unit is full - 3 cases added in the last month…
@losthighwayz Also Whittier and work in ELA near Monterey Park. Self employed, so I can take deliveries at my office. Is there a way to PM on this platform?
@TimothyB@markDaSpark
just working on a few CT entries prior to posting, as we can’t edit for long after the post.
They will show up in the ‘what are you drinking’ thread, or perhaps ‘gatherings’.
dunno
Moreno Valley…‘Meh’ I know should never left San Diego!!
But wait I found my ‘split-a-part’ and she likes wine, a Win-Win…29 years and counting!! (Got’go…don’t drink my 1/2 of that 2008 Wellington Victory!!!)
@klezman Of course - though my 1 bdrm in the SW part of town holds only 10 comfortably; the clubhouse is nice and will hold a larger group. Plus, that’s where the BBQ is - we have to have lamb!
@ScottW58 Just saw this… I’m 40 minutes from Carlsbad, an hour from San Diego. LV is 4+ hours. Am I missing an inside joke?
N.B. we also have a place up in Big Bear, which halves the time and distance…
@merrybill I was not a huge fan of their wines when I visited ~6-7 years ago. A lot can happen in that time, so I’d be happy to sample a bottle or two.
@rjquillin Same here; just want a couple bottles to mark the occasion. @merrybill, if you go in on a case I’m in for 2-3. Happy to pre-pay via paypal or whatever you guys do since I’m new around here.
Temecula here, I do a fair amount of driving for work. I usually work somewhere different each day, and I’m most often in Perris/Moreno Valley, Corona/Chino, Downtown LA, and Hemet/San Jacinto.
For the San Diego group, I snagged a 4-pack.
Only need a single, so three are up for grabs.
you can PM me with interest/info over at ww with the same username. Or, find some other creative way to contact me.
@rjquillin I haven’t found it that bad, actually; it’s about 40-45 minutes door to door. 30 minutes on a good day with no traffic.
Although my perspective may be a bit warped, as before I was down here I was living in Fullerton and commuting to downtown LA, which was hellish whenever I had to drive it (back then I usually took the train, which would make it about a 50 minute one-way trip, but whenever I drove it would take about two hours each way with the traffic).
@jawlz It’s the ‘no traffic’ caveat that puts you commuting at either 05:30 or 19:30.
I have the same issue 52/805 from Lakeside <-> Mira Mesa. I don’t miss LA either; Tujunga <-> Hollywood, Paramount Studios.
@klezman@rjquillin I am nowhere near as organized as Ron, but besides the 3 merlot from Ron, I have 3 rose(s?) from Adam, and if they show up by then, 2 Iron Horse from Ron.
@davirom Probably fine - can check closer to the date. With the new baby we’re not out that much these days. @rjquillin the Martin Ray is in davirom’s box.
@CorTot@i8dacat@klezman@rjquillin Dim sum sounds good to me. We like NBC in Monterey Park, they have the carts that circulate instead of placing orders on paper. We go there for a lunar new year banquet every year and may have 4 - 6 seats available on Saturday 1/25. Depending on the banquet choice, it usually runs $50-$60 per person for 8-10 courses. If anyone is interested, let me know.
I am back in Temecula for the winter. I am happy to host another gathering out here. The new place is even better the the last one. Other Temecula people, give us a whisper, my wife and I are always looking for people to hang out at a winery with.
@hershelk It’ll be nice to see you again!
If you have any desire to spend a night or two closer to LA, we can also host something at one of our places pretty easily.
@radiolysis We have bought a place out here now. It has the most incredible view overlooking the valley and it is on 11 acres. We plan to be out here during the winter and maybe a month in the summer as well. Thank heavens for portable jobs.
@MarkDaSpark Taking the nascent Temecula gathering into account, I think the earliest date we could plan for would be April 18. March is generally family event filled for me.
@CorTot @ScottW58 @rjquillin @losthiwayz @merrybill @AnnaB @PapaPerry @time2testit @MarkDaSpark @swizzel
We’re in West LA/Culver City.
@klezman same here
Glendora. East end of SGV.

@SWMBOTott you seem familiar, where do I know you from?
Something like that.

Sherman oaks
@ScottW58 Uh huh
Pasadena. Work in Duarte
not a big wine drinker, here for mostly curiousity but Inland Empire
@Cerridwyn We also have food when we gather
San Diego, I’ve got a bit of a drive to partake.
But I’m the only ~true~ SoCal-er here, the rest are posers as they are mid-so-cal LA types.
@rjquillin, Ha!
@rjquillin Pretty sure anyplace below the Tehachapi’s are SoCal
New to this site. I’m in HB.
Carlsbad / coastal North County San Diego area…
@dbarrym Well, that’s a bit closer.
You have an awesome Costco wine department in Carlsbad.
@rjquillin yes - I’ve spent a fair amount there, as well as at holiday wine cellar, sd wine co, bottle room and la costa wine!
@dbarrym We’ve already gone in on a case together, but I only just noticed this gatherings page. So, I’m listing myself as another Carlsbad dweller.
@fring Indeed - looking forward to meeting you and delivering the Tercero this weekend. Just missed the Stewart Cellars but I need to take a break for the next few weeks, the storage unit is full - 3 cases added in the last month…
Whittier! Work in Monterey Park.
@losthighwayz Also Whittier and work in ELA near Monterey Park. Self employed, so I can take deliveries at my office. Is there a way to PM on this platform?

JavaDrinker, Coffeemate, & zTimothyBz same area as well.
@MarkDaSpark What he said.
@MarkDaSpark Except here I was able to drop the 'z’s… And are you or RJ going to post pictures of the damage from last night?
@TimothyB @markDaSpark
just working on a few CT entries prior to posting, as we can’t edit for long after the post.
They will show up in the ‘what are you drinking’ thread, or perhaps ‘gatherings’.
dunno
@TimothyB I hope somebody does! Thanks again for an excellent evening.
Moreno Valley…‘Meh’ I know should never left San Diego!!
But wait I found my ‘split-a-part’ and she likes wine, a Win-Win…29 years and counting!! (Got’go…don’t drink my 1/2 of that 2008 Wellington Victory!!!)

Old Town Orange checking in.
Garden Grove here.
San Diego here
@noxxrox bout time a local showed up!
Temecula checking in. Right in the middle of the LA/San Diego/Palm Springs triangle!
Wait! Glendora, Whittier and Temecula don’t count as So Cal, they are closer to Las Vegas
@ScottW58 last I checked I’m within 40 miles of downtown LA. Doesn’t seem that far…
@ScottW58 …in the olden days, the Vegas gatherings were considered satellite SoCal events
@XsanityX We going to get those going any time again? Next time I promise not to crash my car en route…
@klezman Of course - though my 1 bdrm in the SW part of town holds only 10 comfortably; the clubhouse is nice and will hold a larger group. Plus, that’s where the BBQ is - we have to have lamb!
@XsanityX Lamb…yum
@ScottW58 Just saw this… I’m 40 minutes from Carlsbad, an hour from San Diego. LV is 4+ hours. Am I missing an inside joke?
N.B. we also have a place up in Big Bear, which halves the time and distance…
@VogonPoet Not an inside joke, just a joke I think ;)…
“You’re so far outside of LA, you might as well be in_____” or "You’re in Timbuktu*!
So - SoCal or LV - take your pick, you are optimally positioned!
@XsanityX, hopefully this year!
Corona here.
@dodgerBlue
Another neighbor
Ventura county here!
@ConAndLibrarian I miss living in Port Hueneme/Camarillo
@connorbush Been in Camarillo all my life, love it here.
Oxnard, home to a Kosher winery and zero vineyards.
@paulg1982 Howdy neighbor!
/giphy hi!
@paulg1982 but not from SB and ojai, which do have some good wineries. My parents have a place in Oxnard.
@CorTot my dad lives there as well
@paulg1982
/giphy the 'nard
San Diego (north county inland) here!
Idyllwild, up above Palm Desert.
(And VMP backer #451).
San Diego. I would say in the heart of the city, but it’s more like the spleen? Kidney?
OK, time to see if this works. Who went in for a full case on the Little deal?
@merrybill Not I, but I’d take a bottle or two, just to have the inaugural offer.
@merrybill echoing @rjquillin would be interested in picking up a couple bottles
@dave could you move this to the gatherings tab/category? I erred when I set it up, I think.
What’s up all! One more for San Diego! I’m in PQ.
@DaveInSoCal PQ?
@rjquillin Rancho Penasquitos
Another for SGV! El Monte to be exact, though we spend time in SFV often visiting my in-laws.
Irvine here! Looking forward to joining the party.
Temecula here, I do a fair amount of driving for work. I usually work somewhere different each day, and I’m most often in Perris/Moreno Valley, Corona/Chino, Downtown LA, and Hemet/San Jacinto.
@shanebird Hey, neighbor! I’m in Temecula as well.
@VogonPoet sweet! Technically, I live up in de Luz.
Silverlake…
For the San Diego group, I snagged a 4-pack.
Only need a single, so three are up for grabs.
you can PM me with interest/info over at ww with the same username. Or, find some other creative way to contact me.
Another San Diegan here!
@Sekraan now all we need to do is work out a way to actually ~contact~ one another.
@dave @thumperchick how is the pm development progressing?
@rjquillin - I know it’s priority, but don’t have an update on a roll-out date.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am looking to go half on this case with a Casemate near Burbank/Santa Clarita.
/giphy Holler at ya boy.
Esoterica by Kent Rasmussen Mixed Reds
The LBC - Long Beach here
San Bernardino area here!
Torrance area here! Palmdale on the weekends!
I work in Orange, live in Long Beach
@cmerino I’m in Orange too, but I also work here. Have a killer commute… 6 blocks.
Work in downtown San Diego, live in Escondido.
@jawlz That’s a nasty commute.

Setting up a gathering in March. Check out Gourmet woot gahterings tab. All newbies invited!
@losthighwayz Trump and your dad should be invigorating.
Hey folks, just wanted to put all the trades in one place. I’ve got bottles here from both @rjquillin and me for:
@cortot
@davirom
@i8dacat
@PLsemenza
@scottrob30
@ScottW58
@merrybill
And @i8dacat and @funnywontons each have a few bottles for me, too.
@klezman I will be in your end of town on 1/19 around 5 pm-ish. Can I pick up then?
@davirom @klezman
Can you give those three 2015 Martin Ray Stags Leap Merlot to davirom, I’ll pull two more for you.
Thanks.
@klezman @rjquillin I am nowhere near as organized as Ron, but besides the 3 merlot from Ron, I have 3 rose(s?) from Adam, and if they show up by then, 2 Iron Horse from Ron.
@davirom Probably fine - can check closer to the date. With the new baby we’re not out that much these days.
@rjquillin the Martin Ray is in davirom’s box.
@klezman I have a few bottles for a couple of folks:
J Dusi Tres Cajones red blend: @cortot & @markdaspark
Halcon Pinot Noir: @cortot @Klezman @losthighwayz
@i8dacat
I don’t recall where you live. Are you in the San Gabriel valley? If so I can probably pick up at lunch or in the evening sometime.
@CorTot I live in Placentia but work in Pomona near Cal Poly, which I believe is a lot closer to you.
@CorTot @i8dacat Dim sum gathering?
@CorTot @klezman I’m always up for Dim Sum. Hopefully coordination isn’t too hectic.
@CorTot @i8dacat @klezman @rjquillin Dim sum sounds good to me.
@CorTot @davirom @i8dacat @rjquillin that sounds nice too. Will ask molarchae. Little kids make it really difficult for now, though.
@davirom @i8dacat @klezman @rjquillin yeah, probably no go on the dim sum for us.
@rjquillin I just picked up the merlot from Klezman. I need to mail you a check. Please whisper an address so I can send it to you.
@hershelk “even better” is a tall order!
@klezman We are up for that as well.
@radiolysis We have bought a place out here now. It has the most incredible view overlooking the valley and it is on 11 acres. We plan to be out here during the winter and maybe a month in the summer as well. Thank heavens for portable jobs.
@hershelk. Excellent! Hopefully I can make it this time!
@hershelk perhaps a new gathering thread Should be started to lock in interest and dates? I know my wife and I find it hard to turn gatherings down.
@merrybill and I talked about co-hosting an event at his house soon. So maybe once we figure out Temecula, we can talk about other dates?
@MarkDaSpark Taking the nascent Temecula gathering into account, I think the earliest date we could plan for would be April 18. March is generally family event filled for me.
@MarkDaSpark @merrybill this was 3 years ago… When is the gathering?
Bump
I was just thinking of all you this weekend (March 2024 lol) we really had some fun times!
@XsanityX hi! Hope you are well!
All is well, still working, and riding, and on occasion, drinking wine!
