Strange Definitions (or unique perspectives)
2I’m not so sure this will take off, but I thought a place where people could offer some strange, baffling, or unique perspectives, in a non-confrontational realm, might be fun.
As an example, have you ever considered the concept of self discipline? I have, and decided that it could best be defined as the acquired ability to be able to put it upon oneself, before the world, or higher authority, did it for them.
Another might be the concept of honor, almost universally recognized and admired, but seldom practiced.
If fun, add on, if not, enjoy the summer, your refreshments, and the good people around you.

Hard to beat Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary . Although written in 1881 and in the prose of the day many (most?) of the definitions are as fresh as today. Example: CORPORATION, n. An ingenious device for obtaining individual profit without individual responsibility.
And: REPRESENTATIVE, n. In national politics, a member of the Lower House in this world, and without discernible hope of promotion in the next.

I forgot about that publication, but read it when I was younger.
Your choices, for excerpts, certainly brought about a smile; thanks!
Too often now, it seems that wisdom falls by the wayside, when just a little thought can open up a whole new world.
